Surgery Story

On Thursday, December 18 I got a phone call asking if we wanted to have Asher's eye surgery a week early, the next day. We decided to go ahead and do it early. We arrived at the surgery center at 7:30 AM, after Asher fasted since 3:00 AM. He was in a fairly good mood, all things considered.
Asher had the priviledge of taking pictures with both of his parents in the waiting room at the surgery center.

Upon arriving to his room, Asher explored the bed, and decided right away that he wanted nothing to do with his surgical hat.
Who knew they had these tiny little hospital gowns?! So CUTE!!!!!
Asher, wondering why the nurse put the rail up?

We kept his socks on to keep his little feet warm.

It didn't take long to get the hat off.

Nana came by to make sure I got the royal treatment!

With mom in the cute hospital gown!
With dad in the cute hospital gown!
With Nana!!

Nana took him for rides around the center in this wagon. She told him to put one hand on each side and hang on, and he did, and didn't let go until someone took him out of the wagon!!

Going down the hall to surgery. :(

Nana went and got Asher from the recovery room where he was not happy, and brought him to us. His eyes were pretty puffy-- looked like he'd been in a fight!

Poor baby.....

Relaxing with dad.

A few hours later.... at home and crawling around like nothing happened. However, it may hurt your eyes to look at these pictures....there is a little blood in the corners of his eyes!!

Ouch!

Eating some cheerios--- he was a hungry boy!

A week later, before going to Christmas Eve church service.
His eyes are looking pretty good, although a tiny bit of pink, but may not show up in these pictures.
After opening their new pajamas, snuggled up together before heading off to bed to dream of sugarplums and reindeer.

They love each other so much!
Papa Jay came to visit 2 days later, and the eyes look excellent!

He's thinking...I'm comin' to get ya, mom!

Since his surgery, his depth perception seems to have improved, and now Asher is crawling on his hands and knees more, as well as cruisin' more, and now even pushing this toy.

Asher loves playing with musical instruments....here he is plaing with a noisy bead rattler. Look at those straight baby blues!
Enjoying a Ritz!
What a handsome guy!
Classic!
